When is the conference?

The conference officially begins at the Welcome Reception, Tuesday, March 13th at 6:30 PM, and ends at 3:00 PM Thursday, March 15th (see below for information related to pre and post conference events). Working group meetings and an open space for networking will be available from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM Thursday. Check the agenda for details.

Where is the conference?

The conference is located at the Berkeley Marina Hotel in Berkeley, California. The address is 2200 Marina Blvd, Berkeley, CA 94710.

Where do I check in?

The registration table will be located in the 1st floor lobby of the hotel. The Welcome Reception will be held in the Bayview Ballroom and adjacent lawn.

When can I check in?

The registration table will be open Tuesday from 7:30 AM – 8:30 PM, Wednesday from 7:30 AM – 8:30 PM, and Thursday from 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM.

what to bring

What is the dress code?

Business casual clothing is recommended for most sessions, however, festive attire is encouraged Wednesday for the Evening Keynote, Plenary and the Disruptive Fashion Party. There will be time to change before buses depart for Wednesday evening events at 5:15 PM.

Keep in mind that it may rain throughout the week of the conference. Please bring a raincoat and/or umbrella.

What should I wear on the field trips?

March in the Bay Area can be quite chilly, but also sunny and warm. Plan for temperatures between 60-70 degrees Fahrenheit during the day with noticeably cooler evenings. We recommend bringing comfortable clothing and a rain coat in case there are light showers throughout the trip.

Participation Policies

I am not a Confluence member. How can I attend as a guest?

Non-member Investors may attend as guests. They must apply to attend. If approved, they may register for pre-conference events with additional fees, the Welcome Intensive and the Learner's Institute. Approved non-members are eligible to attend all regular conference sessions and events, except invitation-only meals and the Confluence Membership Meeting on Thursday afternoon.

The Practitioners Institute is open to Practitioner Investor and Practitioner Advisor Members only.

I am an Associate member. What can I attend?

By invitation only, Associate Investor members are eligible to attend pre-conference and regular conference sessions, except the Practitioners Institute on Tuesday morning. Please contact us prior to registration.

When are the pre-conference events and who can attend?

Confluence is hosting several special pre-conference programs on Monday, March 12th and Tuesday, March 13th. Registration is required to attend all pre-conference programs and additional fees apply. All members and approved guests are eligible to attend pre-conference programs, except the Practitioners Institute. The Practitioner's Institute is open to Practitioner Investor and Practitioner Advisor Members only.  

Members and approved guests who register to attend pre-conference sessions on Tuesday, March 13th are also welcome to attend afternoon field trips. Advanced registration is required to participate in the field trips and space is limited. 

I’m not currently registered for a pre-conference event but want to join in. What do I do now?

If you set up your own RegOnline account during registration, you can log in and add or remove the Monday and Tuesday pre-conference events by yourself. If you did not create your own account at registration, please contact Confluence staff at register@confluencephilanthropy.org.

Refund POlicies

Conference Registrations: Registration costs are refundable up to February 12, but Confluence is unable to refund processing fees. Confluence cannot refund registration cost and fees after February 12.

Hotel Reservations: Hotel reservations are non-refundable after February 26, 2018. Guests who request cancellation after February 26, 2018 are responsible for covering all hotel fees.
